Role Overview
We are looking for a Finance & Compliance professional to manage end-to-end statutory compliances, payroll processing for staffing projects, and audit coordination. The role requires hands-on experience in TDS, GST, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, salary processing, and handling statutory and tax audits, along with responding to income tax and GST notices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory & Tax Compliances
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual compliances including:
- TDS (calculation, challan payment, returns, Form 16/16A)
- GST (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation with books, notices)
- PF, ESI & Professional Tax (returns, challans, reconciliations)
- Ensure timely payment of statutory dues and filing of returns
- Track due dates and ensure zero non-compliance
2. Payroll & Staffing Project Salary Processing
- Handle end-to-end salary processing for staffing / contractual employees
- Ensure accurate processing of:
- Salaries
- PF, ESI, PT deductions
- Final settlements (F&F)
- Coordinate with operations for:
- Attendance data
- Salary validations
- Timely disbursement
- Ensure compliance with labour laws applicable to staffing projects
3. Audit Management
- Independently manage and coordinate:
- Statutory Audit
- Tax Audit
- GST Audit
- Internal / Special audits (if any)
- Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents
- Act as the single point of contact for auditors
- Ensure timely closure of audit queries and observations
4. Notice Handling & Regulatory Communication
- Draft and manage replies for:
- Income Tax notices
- GST notices
- Other statutory communications
- Coordinate with consultants where required
- Ensure proper documentation and follow-up until closure
5. Reporting & Controls
- Maintain proper documentation and compliance trackers
- Support finance team in:
- Month-end close activities
- Reconciliations related to statutory accounts
- Strengthen internal controls around payroll and compliance processes
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification
- CA (Inter) / CA (Final)
- Practical compliance exposure preferred over purely theoretical knowledge
Experience
- 4–7 years of relevant experience
- Mandatory experience in:
- GST, TDS, PF, ESI, PT compliances
- Payroll processing (preferably staffing / manpower industry)
- Audit coordination and notice handling
Skill Set
- Strong understanding of:
- Indian tax laws
- Labour law compliances
- Hands-on experience with:
- Payroll systems
- Accounting / ERP tools
- Excel (advanced working)
- Good drafting skills for notices and audit replies
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
