Job Summary

The Servicenow ITAM Senior Manager will lead the Software Asset Management (SAM) initiatives within the organization, aligning with IT and business objectives. This role is crucial in ensuring software compliance, optimizing license usage, and managing risks. The Senior Manager will lead a specialized team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while collaborating with various departments to enhance software asset practices.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive SAM strategy aligned with IT and business objectives. Lead a team of SAM analysts and specialists, driving continuous improvement in SAM processes and tools.
• Software Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with software licensing terms across all vendors, manage internal and external software audits, and mitigate risks associated with software usage.
• License Optimization & Cost Control: Analyze software usage data to identify underutilized licenses and implement optimization strategies, including negotiations and renewals of software contracts.
• Governance & Policy Development: Establish and enforce SAM policies and standards, educate stakeholders on software best practices, and ensure policies remain relevant through continuous review.
• SAM Tooling & Data Integrity: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of SAM tools, ensuring accurate software inventory data and integration with financial systems.
• Reporting & Analytics: Develop dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) for software compliance, provide executive-level insights, and analyze usage trends for cost reduction.
• Entitlement Management & Analytics: Maintain accurate entitlement records, perform analytics to identify licensing gaps, and ensure audit readiness through complete and current entitlement data.

Qualifications

• Educational Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge: Deep knowledge of software licensing models (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM), ITIL, ISO/IEC 19770, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience:
  • 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • 8+ years experience in IT Asset Management with a focus on Software Asset Management.
  • 7+ years executing asset management projects.
  • Broad exposure to software contract documents.
• Certifications: CSAM, CHAMP, CITAM, ITIL (highly desirable).
• Skills: Advanced analytical skills in tools like Excel and Power BI, proficiency with SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro), and understanding of complex licensing terminology.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with software metering and usage analytics tools.
• Experience with generative AI and automation relevant to Software Asset Management.

Experience

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in IT Asset Management and Software Asset Management.

Environment

• Typical work setting is in an office environment located in Bangalore. The mode of work is contract, and the notice period for joining is immediate.
