Job Summary
The Senior HR Lead at Astrobase will serve as a founding member of the HR function, working directly with the leadership team to define and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives. This hands-on role encompasses the setup and scaling of talent acquisition, compliance, OKR management, workforce planning, and foundational HR processes. As the first HR hire, you will shape the company culture, develop policies, drive performance management, and help attract and retain world-class talent in a high-growth, mission-driven spacetech startup.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with founders to define and implement HR strategies that support business goals.
- Lead and scale hiring initiatives across technical, operational, and leadership roles.
- Establish structured OKR (Objectives and Key Results) systems and manage performance management processes.
- Oversee HR operations, ensure legal compliance, and develop company policies throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Build and promote a strong employer brand to foster a high-performance, mission-driven culture.
- Develop and maintain people analytics and dashboards to monitor key HR metrics and inform decision-making.
- Lead onboarding, engagement, and retention programs for a rapidly growing team.
Qualifications
- Master’s in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of HR experience, ideally in fast-growing technology, automobile, or space sector companies.
- Demonstrated ability to establish HR systems, policies, and processes from the ground up.
- Expertise in end-to-end recruitment, compliance, and OKR/performance management frameworks.
- In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication, empathy, and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of ownership, adaptability, and comfort in fast-paced startup environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in startups or founding HR roles.
- Background in HR within technology, automobile, or aerospace/spacetech sectors.
- Familiarity with HR analytics tools and dashboard creation.
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong cultural management and employer branding skills.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience required; 5–7 years preferred in relevant HR roles.
- Proven track record in building HR functions, talent acquisition, compliance, and performance management systems.
- Experience in high-growth or startup environments highly desirable.
