Job Summary

The Head of Merchandising & Discovery role is a strategic position responsible for enhancing the digital storefront for Slikk. This includes curating customer experiences across the app and mobile web platforms by utilizing data and trends to shape customer demand and improve engagement and conversion rates.

Responsibilities

  • Digital Storefront Strategy: Own the merchandising strategy across Slikk's app and mobile web platforms, defining how customers discover products, brands, trends, and campaigns.
  • Homepage, Navigation & Discovery: Manage the architecture of the homepage, navigation strategies, and category storefronts, designing data-driven wireframes that improve customer engagement and conversion.
  • Curation & Trend Leadership: Create engaging edits, collections, and discovery moments by translating cultural trends and social signals into actionable merchandising strategies.
  • Performance & Optimization: Monitor key performance metrics such as conversion rate, traffic distribution, click-through rates, and engagement metrics, driving experimentation through A/B testing.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with multiple teams (Category, Curation, Marketing, Product, Design, and Analytics) to align merchandising decisions with customer insights and data-backed recommendations.
  • Team Building: Build and lead a high-performing merchandising and discovery team, mentoring and developing talent as Slikk scales.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in merchandising, e-commerce, or a related field, with a proven track record in digital strategy and customer engagement.
  • Technical Skills: Strong data analysis skills, experience with A/B testing and optimization, and proficiency in analytics tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment across departments.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of fashion and lifestyle trends, customer behavior, and the e-commerce landscape.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of customer experience design principles.
  • Experience with visual merchandising and brand positioning.
  • Familiarity with the Gen Z market and their shopping behaviors.

Experience

10+ years of relevant experience in merchandising or e-commerce, with a strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.

Environment

This role is based in Bengaluru and is a full-time position. It is expected that the successful candidate will work in an in-office environment while collaborating closely with various teams.
