Senior Design Engineer - Electrical

Job Summary

The Senior Design Engineer - Electrical is responsible for electrical design, modeling, detailing, and documentation within the MEP discipline. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations and contribute to the overall success of projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, Modeling, Detailing, and Documentation: Perform lighting calculations using Visual Lighting software, design electrical systems in 2D and 3D, create electrical panel schedules, develop one-line diagrams, and prepare detailed construction documents (BIM) and power layouts/designs.
• Quality Control (QC): Follow project QC checklists, implement QC standards across projects, and maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Client Coordination: Conduct daily or weekly status calls with clients and the Project Lead to provide task updates, capture and analyze client requirements, and deliver tasks according to client needs under supervision.
• Performance Accountability: Ensure the overall performance of assigned electrical tasks and the quality of all deliverables to clients.

Qualifications

• Education: B. Tech / M. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with BIM360
  • Experience with Navisworks
  • Proficiency in Visual Lighting
• Domain Expertise:
  • Knowledge of USA Electrical/NEC codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of projects in the USA
  • Understanding of electrical and power systems
  • Experience designing electrical systems for various building types, including commercial buildings, sports facilities, office buildings, hospital buildings, institutional buildings, and mixed-use buildings.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with advanced electrical design software and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience

• Overall 6+ years of experience on CAD and BIM platforms.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Senior Design Engineer (Electrical).
