Job Summary
The Area Credit Manager will be responsible for assessment and management of credit applications, focusing on individual borrower profiles and repayment capacity. This role is crucial in ensuring effective risk management and compliance with the company’s credit policies while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze borrower profiles, repayment capacity, and income stability.
- Conduct due diligence visits to business premises, properties, and residences of customers at the time of the Personal Discussion (PD).
- Understand actual business income and expenses of customers beyond reported data.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers by analyzing documents and observations from PD.
- Study, analyze, and interpret legal and technical reports related to property.
- Underwrite and sanction home loans or loans against property files sourced by the sales team.
- Communicate with different departments to address post-sanction conditions prior to disbursement.
- Maintain a turnaround time (TAT) as per guidelines while ensuring adherence to policies and processes laid out by the Central team.
- Monitor non-starters and first EMI bounce trends closely.
- Maintain and report various Management Information Systems (MIS) to monitor portfolio performance and risk.
- Continuously improve underwriting capabilities based on portfolio performance analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in credit assessment and management.
- Strong knowledge of the affordable home segment and related credit products.
- Proficient analytical skills and attention to detail.

- Experience in customer relationship management and team collaboration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and complexities in borrower profiles.
Experience
5+ years of experience in credit assessment and management, preferably within the housing finance or banking industry.

This position is based in Mumbai, operating in a full-time capacity. The work environment is collaborative and requires frequent interaction with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
