Job Summary
The Marketing & Strategy Lead at Avataar Ventures will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategic marketing initiatives to elevate the firm’s brand presence within the global tech ecosystem. This role involves managing high-profile events, creating compelling content, engaging with industry stakeholders, and driving thought leadership. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to support the firm’s growth objectives, foster industry relationships, and position Avataar as a leader in the venture capital and technology space.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and oversee end-to-end events, including conceptualization, budgeting, logistics, and on-site management, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain high-quality content such as newsletters, blogs, podcasts, and thought leadership articles by collaborating with internal teams, portfolio companies, and industry experts.
- Identify and secure media coverage opportunities by cultivating relationships with journalists, reporters, and media outlets; draft and distribute press releases; pitch story ideas; and secure features in top-tier publications like Forbes.
- Conduct interviews with Limited Partners, portfolio company leaders, and other key stakeholders to gather insights and craft engaging stories that promote Avataar’s mission, vision, and values.
- Manage and grow a professional network to enhance the firm’s brand presence and visibility within the ecosystem.
- Coordinate quarterly newsletters for Limited Partners and key stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate communication of company updates, portfolio developments, and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze marketing and media trends to identify opportunities and develop initiatives that support business growth and brand positioning.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and portfolio teams to align marketing strategies with overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of experience in marketing, content creation, stakeholder engagement, and event management.
- Proven expertise in end-to-end marketing activities, including creative writing, video editing, and designing marketing materials and presentations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Experience in developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives.
- Established media relationships and a professional network within the industry.
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
