Roles and Responsibilities 

1.Build & lead a fantastic, outcome-driven data science team
2.Build and own a strategic roadmap for data science in line with the business vision. Roadmap to cause significant 
delta in the business outcomes by leveraging data science capabilities
3.Stay up to pace with the latest technologies evolving in the data science world
4.Collaborate with external experts to keep feeding the team with the required knowledge to cause outcomes or 
create collaboration opportunities for the team to learn
5.Build and own the capability roadmap of the data science team
6.Partner with the founders and leadership team to drive outcomes by bringing in the expertise of data science
7.Build and own the data product roadmap for the business to enable objective decision-making by every team 
member in the company
8.Conduct hypothesis-driven exploratory analysis and select the most appropriate modeling techniques which 
include a variety of machine learning models.
9.Own data science financial budget and ROI. Build a cost-efficient data science infrastructure

10.Generating insights on drivers and influencers of business to enable robust OKR planning and effective 
execution
11.Custodian of data integrity

 

What are the competencies needed: Should have been exposed to these aspects

1.Functional expertise
1. Master/Bachelor’s in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, AI, 
Statistics, or equivalent).
2. 8+ years of experience in managing Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and Data Engineers.
3. Machine learning: Expertise in quantitative analysis using ML algorithms.

4. Python: Proven skills in building, manipulating, and deploying models in Python.

5. SQL: Experienced in writing complex yet efficient SQL queries.
6. Visualization: Worked with any of the visualization tools such as Tableau.
7. Engineering: Experienced working with AWS environment and databases such as Redshift, and MySQL.
