About the job: We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to lead our legal division and work closely with the management on all legal and commercial matters. Responsibilities: • Responsible for all legal affairs of the company across three verticals: real estate, fund/investment management and asset tokenisation platform. • Work closely with the promoters and leading consultants to examine risks basis business strategy and help take decisions jointly. • Review and improve existing systems – by working with people, processes, data, and tech. • Draft and review commercial contracts, sale and lease agreements, service agreements, fund documents, technology contracts etc. • Manage relationships with external legal consultants, including top tier firms, solicitors, and lawyers. • Manage a team and assign OKR’s for the team. • Work with regulators and government bodies for regular representations, compliance, and monitoring . • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. • Advise management on legal risks and liability issues. • Stay up to date on developments in laws involving technology, blockchain regulations and be willing to learn and adapt as necessary. Job Title: Chief Legal Officer Some things you would be working on to start with: Tech platform: Data protection, privacy policy, KYC- AML compliance, NDAs, laws relating to VDAs, tokenisation and blockchain regulations etc Fund management: Securities Laws, Fund offering documents: PPM, Contribution Agreement, FEMA compliance, Adherence agreements etc. Real Estate Transactions: Commercial transactions, land legal - title due diligence, development agreements etc. LLP and company related affairs: Shareholder agreements, CCD agreements, LLP agreements etc. We would like to build a lean internal team and work with various external legal experts on critical matters, however we expect our in-house general counsel to handle all matters and help create culture of independent thinking and excellence. Qualifications/Experience: • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited law school in India. • International education and/or work experience desirable. • At least 6 years of legal experience, including experience in managing a team and relevant experience in real estate, fund documentation and commercial law. • LLM degree or equivalent degree from a reputed university (preferred). • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to technology, fund management, real estate, commercial transactions in India. • Familiarity with blockchain regulations Skills & Personal Qualities: • Sense of ethics and integrity • Attitude: Spark.
