Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will play a critical role in the organization's data management and analytics strategy. This position involves working collaboratively across multiple teams to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and solutions that empower the organization to make data-driven decisions. The role is key to improving data delivery processes and ensuring the quality and reliability of data flows within the Finance Data Warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with multiple data source teams to publish data to the Finance Data Warehouse.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including data, design, product, and executive teams, to address data-related technical issues.
  • Build scalable data pipelines for generating training datasets for machine learning deliverables.
  • Mentor junior resources and drive the end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of engineering components.
  • Communicate effectively with both senior and junior colleagues to embed data science and analytics across the organization.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of code quality and development practices, adapting and self-learning new technologies as needed.
  • Translate business challenges into technical solutions and apply best practices while leading by example.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS in Computer Science or a related field; MS Degree in Computer Science or related technical degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, including data lakes and data warehouses, preferably with Snowflake.
  • Proven ability to assemble large, complex data sets that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing the integration, modeling, and orchestration of complex financial data.
  • Proficient in scripting and data handling using SQL, Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting in ambiguous environments.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based systems, preferably Azure.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with Snowflake data warehouses.
  • Expertise in designing data table structures, reports, and queries.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Knowledge of building data integrity checks as part of application delivery.
  • Experience with Kafka technologies.
  • Strong capability to write performant and secure code.
  • Exposure to Real-Time Analytics and Real-Time Messaging.
  • Desirable experience with Microservices architecture.
  • Aptitude for fostering connections and building trusting relationships.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering roles, with a focus on financial data processing preferred.
