Job Summary
The Catalogue Executive plays a crucial role in managing product listings and ensuring the accuracy and discoverability of the e-commerce catalog. This position directly supports the enhancement of the online shopping experience for customers by creating engaging and informative product listings that meet organizational standards and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Product Listing Creation: Build detailed product listings on the app, including titles, descriptions, images, specifications, and search tags using a consistent template.
- Image Management: Source quality images from vendor-provided assets, coordinate in-store shoots for missing images, and maintain a well-organized image asset folder with a naming convention.
- Search & Discoverability: Develop a search tag strategy for building materials based on contractor feedback, map common trade language to SKUs, and audit zero-result searches weekly in coordination with the tech team.
- Catalogue Accuracy & Updates: Update product listings within 24 hours of any changes and conduct fortnightly audits to ensure the accuracy of images, prices, and active SKUs.
- App Merchandising: Manage homepage banners, category page layouts, and featured product placements in collaboration with the Marketing Manager; ensure timely listing of promotional SKUs.
- Coordination: Conduct daily checks with Item Master Executive to verify SKU data completeness, and synchronize weekly with Category Managers and the Tech team regarding product launches and performance issues.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2-4 years in e-commerce cataloguing, content operations, or digital merchandising.
- Background Knowledge: Prior experience with building materials, industrial goods, or home improvement platforms is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with app Content Management Systems (CMS) like Shopify or WooCommerce; hands-on experience with basic product photography.
- Educational Background: Any graduation with a demonstrated content/digital portfolio; a short course in digital marketing, content writing, or photography is a plus.
- Portfolio: A portfolio of product listings created is more valuable than formal qualifications.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of app search and SEO logic relating to tags and keywords for enhancing discoverability.
Experience
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in e-commerce cataloguing or related fields.
