Job Summary

The Chief Business Officer (CBO) will play a pivotal role in the firm’s leadership team, focusing on driving fundraising, managing investor relations, and implementing distribution strategies to support business growth across private equity, private credit, and alternate investment platforms. This strategic leadership position is vital for establishing a robust commercial presence in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising & Capital Raising:

    • Lead the full fundraising cycle for existing and future funds, including Private Equity, Private Credit, and Structured Capital.
    • Drive capital raising initiatives targeting family offices, UHNW/HNW investors, and private banks.
    • Design and execute fundraising strategies that align with fund lifecycle and current market conditions.
  • Investor Relations & LP Management:

    • Serve as the main contact for current and prospective investors.
    • Oversee investor communications such as quarterly reports, fund updates, AGMs, and regulatory disclosures.
    • Build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with Limited Partners (LPs).
  • Distribution & Sales Leadership:

    • Develop and scale distribution channels through private banks, wealth advisors, and strategic partners.
    • Lead the national and regional sales strategy for alternatives.
    • Manage teams focused on sales, fundraising, and relationship management.
  • Business Strategy & Growth:

    • Collaborate with Managing Directors on platform strategies, product roadmaps, and market expansion initiatives.
    • Identify new business opportunities and support brand positioning and visibility.
  • Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

    • Mentor and grow high-performing teams in fundraising, investor relations, and sales.
    • Work closely with various internal teams including Investment, Compliance, and Legal.
    • Represent the firm at industry forums and investor conferences.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 18–25+ years in fundraising, investor relations, private equity, asset management, and wealth management.

  • Skills:

    • Fundraising and investor relations expertise in private equity or alternatives.
    • Deep understanding of capital markets and corporate finance.
    • Proven ability in strategic planning, negotiation, and stakeholder management.
    • Excellent leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Education:

    • MBA, CA, CFA, or equivalent from a reputable institution.
    • Strong background in finance, investments, and capital markets is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Established network across Limited Partners (LPs), family offices, and distribution partners.
  • Experience in senior leadership roles such as Head of Fundraising or National Sales Head.
  • Proven track record of raising substantial capital across multiple fund cycles.

Experience

Candidates should possess 18–25+ years of experience in fundraising, investor relations, or related fields, with a strong network and leadership in private banking or wealth management.

Environment

The role is based in Mumbai, India, and is part of the executive management team, which involves frequent interactions with stakeholders and representation at industry events.
