Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with extensive experience in automated testing frameworks, particularly in Playwright, TestNG, Cucumber, and Rest Assured. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software through the design and implementation of robust automated testing processes.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the current Playwright framework architecture and propose enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Playwright WebDriver and Cucumber.
• Design and implement new modules or components to extend the framework's functionality based on project requirements.
• Develop robust and efficient Playwright test scripts using best practices and design patterns.
• Refactor existing scripts to improve readability, modularity, and performance.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of API testing using Rest Assured.
• Enhance the existing automation framework in the team to reduce tasks and improve productivity.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Continuously improve our QA processes and activities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Mentor team members of the QA team, providing guidance on best practices and technical expertise to reduce the effort of existing automation cycles.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java.
• Integrate Selenium tests with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for nightly regression.
• Ensure strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Apply knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies when working within Agile teams.
• Possess basic knowledge of DevOps concepts.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5-10 years in software testing, specifically in automated testing.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Playwright, TestNG, Cucumber, Postman, Rest Assured, and Java.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and tools such as Jenkins.
  • Experience in developing test automation frameworks.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Additional experience with other testing frameworks and tools would be a plus.
• Knowledge of other programming languages is advantageous.

Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in automated testing and software quality assurance.

Environment

• Locations: Chennai, Pune, and Coimbatore. The work setting may include a blend of in-office and remote work, depending on organizational policies.
