<p>The Opportunity: Architecting the Future of EngagementAs a Principal Architect at MoEngage,</p>
<p>you will not just design systems; you will define the technical trajectory of the company for the</p>
<p>next decade. We are looking for a visionary technologist to lead our "Journey Beyond 2025"—a</p>
<p>strategic pivot towards an AI-first, hyper-scale customer engagement platform.</p>
<p>You will hold the blueprint for our reliability, cost-efficiency, and next-generation capabilities. You</p>
<p>will be responsible for integrating massive-scale AI initiatives into our core distributed systems,</p>
<p>ensuring we remain not just a market leader, but a technology pioneer.</p>
<p>Key Responsibilities:</p>
<p>1. Vision & Strategy (Beyond 2025)</p>
<p>• Architect the AI Transformation: Spearhead the architectural design for MoEngage’s AI-native</p>
<p>capabilities. This includes building scalable inference pipelines, training infrastructure, vector</p>
<p>database management, and LLM orchestration layers.</p>
<p>• Future-Proofing Infrastructure: Define the "North Star" architecture that supports 100x growth in</p>
<p>data volume and complexity. Identify strategic inefficiencies and drive the adoption of paradigm-</p>
<p>shifting technologies (e.g. Zero Copy, Real-time Stream Processing).</p>
<p>• Strategic FinOps & Unit Economics: Take ultimate accountability for the cost-efficiency of our</p>
<p>cloud footprint. Design systems where cost scales sub-linearly with growth, specifically</p>
<p>managing the high-cost implications of GPU compute and AI workloads.</p>
<p>2. Technical Leadership & Execution</p>
<p>• Deep-Dive Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to go vertically deep into the network/</p>
<p>database level to solve "hard" problems regarding latency, throughput, and consistency in</p>
<p>distributed systems.</p>
<p>• Cross-Functional Orchestration: Translate vague business goals into concrete technical</p>
<p>roadmaps. Subdivide multi-year strategic initiatives into actionable monthly/quarterly execution</p>
<p>plans across multiple engineering verticals.</p>
<p>3. Mentorship & Culture</p>
<p>• Cultivate Engineering Excellence: Raise the bar on sustainable engineering by institutionalizing</p>
<p>best practices in observability, chaos engineering, and automated resiliency.</p>
<p>• Executive Advisory: Act as a trusted technical advisor to the business, helping them crack</p>
<p>complex integrations, understand customer challenges and help architect solutions</p>
<p>• Mentor the Mentors: Coach Tech Leads, Staff and Architects, helping them navigate complex</p>
<p>technical trade-offs and developing the next generation of architectural leaders at MoEngage.</p>
<p>What You'll Need:</p>
<p>Experience & Education</p>
<p>• 15+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years in a Principal/Chief</p>
<p>Architect role or equivalent.</p>
<p>• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field.</p>
<p>Technical Mastery</p>
<p>• Hyper-Scale Distributed Systems: Proven track record of designing systems that handle millions</p>
<p>of transactions per second (TPS) and petabyte-scale data ingestion.</p>
<p>• Cloud Native Expert: Deep mastery of AWS/GCP/Azure ecosystems, including container</p>
<p>orchestration (K8s), service mesh, and multi-region active-active architectures.</p>
<p>• Database Architectures: Expert-level knowledge of various data stores (NoSQL, NewSQL,</p>
<p>Columnar, Time-series) and the ability to choose the right tool for high-throughput/low-latency</p>
<p>scenarios.</p>
<p>Leadership & Soft Skills</p>
<p>• Visionary Communication: Ability to write Vision docs• Product Thinking: You don't just build tech; you understand the "Why." You can articulate how</p>
<p>architectural decisions impact the customer experience, reliability and the P&L.</p>
<p>• Resilience & Maturity: A history of navigating high-pressure situations, resolving technical</p>
<p>disagreements with grace, and fostering a collaborative, psychological-safe environment.</p>
<p>Bonus Points</p>
<p>• Industry Recognition: You are a recognized figure in the tech community (published author,</p>
<p>frequent conference speaker, or open-source contributor).</p>
<p>• AI/ML Infrastructure: Hands-on experience architecting platforms for Generative AI/LLMs.</p>
<p>Familiarity with MLOps pipelines, Model Serving and Vector search technologies</p>
<p>• Legacy Modernisation: Proven success in strangulating monolithic architectures into</p>
<p>microservices/serverless patterns without downtime.</p>
