About TiE Mumbai:
TiE Mumbai is the Mumbai chapter of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), a global non-profit organization fostering entrepreneurship through mentoring, networking, education, incubation, and funding. TiE Mumbai has played a pivotal role in building the entrepreneurial ecosystem of India’s financial capital, supporting startups, scaleups, and early-stage entrepreneurs through curated programs, investor connects, and thought leadership.
Role Summary:
The Executive Director – Corporate & Government Partnerships at TiE Mumbai will spearhead initiatives to engage, structure, and grow strategic partnerships with corporates, government bodies, and ecosystem enablers. This role is vital in enabling sustainable growth for TiE Mumbai through programmatic collaborations, sponsorships, and policy engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Corporate Engagement & Strategic Partnerships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with CXOs, innovation heads, and CSR leads of large corporates.
- Design and implement collaborative programs such as startup challenges, accelerator initiatives, and innovation showcases.
- Secure strategic sponsorships and partnerships aligned with TiE Mumbai's goals and partners' brand/CSR/ESG objectives.
2. Government & Public Sector Collaboration
- Engage with government agencies such as Startup India, Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS), MIDC, BMC, and other public sector bodies.
- Drive government-funded programs and initiatives for entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and women founders.
- Represent TiE Mumbai in government consultations, policy discussions, and public forums.
3. Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Identify and unlock revenue opportunities through CSR partnerships, industry collaborations, and government grants.
- Prepare customized proposals, partnership decks, and MoUs to support funding and program design.
- Track and report outcomes of funded initiatives and ensure regulatory and partner compliance.
4. Program Leadership & Ecosystem Building
- Co-create and lead key initiatives such as TiE Mumbai’s Innovation Summit, Investor Connect programs, and Corporate-Startup Connect events.
- Collaborate with ecosystem players like incubators, accelerators, industry associations (e.g., CII, NASSCOM), and academia.
- Identify and launch new initiatives that align with regional economic priorities and startup needs.
5. Leadership & Reporting
- Work closely with the President and Board to align strategy with execution.
- Lead a partnerships and development team, including external consultants or interns.
- Maintain dashboards and provide regular updates on partnerships, revenue, and ecosystem impact.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Economics, or related field.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in corporate relations, government affairs, nonprofit leadership, or ecosystem development.
- Proven track record in fundraising, stakeholder management, and public-private collaboration.
- Deep understanding of India’s startup ecosystem, especially in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Strong network within Maharashtra’s business and government ecosystem.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with high ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, and relationship-building ability.
- Experience with CSR funding frameworks and ESG-driven program design.
- Comfortable working with Boards, senior leaders, and public institutions.
