Key Account Manager – Sales (Domestic)

Job Summary

We are seeking a high-performing Key Account Manager – Sales (Domestic) to drive strategic growth and revenue through new client acquisition, partner engagement, and market expansion initiatives. This role will focus on identifying business opportunities, building strong relationships with publishers, educational institutions, and content providers, driving growth of existing accounts, and converting prospects into long-term partners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and research potential clients within the publishing and education sectors, leveraging networks, events, and platforms to build a strong pipeline.
  • Client Engagement: Drive outreach through calls, emails, and meetings to pitch services, understand client requirements, and offer tailored solutions aligned to business objectives.
  • Proposal Development & Closure: Develop customized proposals, commercial offers, and business cases. Lead negotiations and close deals in line with pricing and profitability frameworks.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, content, legal, finance, and client servicing teams to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term client integration.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activity, e-commerce dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Reporting & CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, deal pipelines, and client interactions using CRM tools. Provide regular updates and forecasts to leadership.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with key stakeholders within the publishing ecosystem to drive repeat business and referrals.
  • Event Representation: Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and webinars to enhance brand visibility and build networks.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in Sales or Strategic Partnerships, preferably within publishing, EdTech, content, or related B2C/service sectors.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to achieve revenue targets and successfully close deals.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders effectively.
  • Negotiation Skills: Excellent negotiation and relationship management capabilities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Monday.com, Slack) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes: Self-driven, proactive individual with a strong interest in books, content, and the evolving digital print ecosystem.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in strategic sales initiatives.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in the educational sector.
  • Additional languages can be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a sales or partnership role.
