Job Summary

As a Lead Design HVCB, your primary responsibility will be to lead and guide a team in designing High Voltage Circuit Breakers (HVCB) up to 400kV class. You will ensure that design parameters meet product specifications, plan and perform relevant analyses, and define qualification requirements for products while optimizing collaboration with internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team to design parameters in accordance with IEEE/IEC Type tests for the Direct Thermal Circuit Breaker (DTCB).
  • Guide the team in conducting basic studies and analyses for DTCB, including Mechanical, Electromagnetic, Structural, Thermal, Dielectric, and Coupled Field analyses.
  • Ensure that the team understands and can define dielectric, mechanical, and electrical clearances for high voltage parts.
  • Review and report on the progress of various development projects within a cross-functional and matrix structure.
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to ensure timely and complete delivery of Research and Development (R&D) projects.
  • Assess customer requirements for suitability and adaptability to meet specifications fully.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualifications: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Design Engineering.
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in high voltage product design and development.
  • Expertise in leading and executing Type test regimes for DTCB/HVCB in compliance with IEEE/IEC standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the manufacturing and qualification processes for high voltage products.

Preferred Skills

  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Experience

10-15 years of experience in high voltage product design and development, specifically in leading Type test regimes for DTCB/HVCB as per IEEE/IEC standards.

Environment

The typical work setting is likely to be an office environment with opportunities for collaboration within a team and interaction with cross-functional colleagues. Some travel may be required to meet project demands.
