Lead Data Scientist

Job Summary

The Lead Data Scientist will drive the AI vision at , leading the data strategy and owning the entire AI charter. This role involves hands-on execution and collaboration with various teams to solve real-world problems through scalable AI systems. The successful candidate will work on logistics intelligence, last-mile automation, and predictive modeling, significantly impacting millions of shipments every day.

Responsibilities

• Lead End-to-End Projects: Own the complete lifecycle of AI/ML initiatives from problem definition and data gathering to model deployment and monitoring in production.
• Code, Innovate, Scale: Build state-of-the-art models using machine learning, deep learning, and large language models (LLMs) to enhance logistics automation and deploy them in real-world settings.
• Build & Nurture the Team: Grow and lead a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, mentoring talent and shaping company culture.
• Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to implement data science features that drive business metrics at scale.
• Shape AI Strategy: Drive innovation and influence company-wide decisions regarding the AI roadmap.
• Champion Best Practices: Promote modern AI/ML tooling, experimentation pipelines, and machine learning operations (MLOps) standards.

Qualifications

• Experience: 8+ years in applied data science, AI, and machine learning, including expertise in LLMs and predictive modeling.
• Leadership: At least 3+ years of hands-on leadership experience, with a proven ability to inspire and upskill teams.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with modern ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, and Hugging Face.
• Communication: Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills, capable of explaining complex models to both executives and junior developers.
• Problem-Solving: A self-starter mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and a bias for action.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI project management and strategic planning.
• Familiarity with logistics or e-commerce sectors.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Science and AI, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
