Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced ServiceNow Principal Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development, enhancement, and optimization of our ServiceNow platform. This role will focus on both development and exploration of IT Operations Management (ITOM), Configuration Data Model (CSDM), Discovery, and Configuration Item (CI) modules and IT Asset Management (ITAM), ensuring we are on the forefront of maximizing ServiceNow capabilities to meet our business needs.
Responsibilities

ServiceNow ITOM, ITAM, and CSDM Architecture & Development
- Design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions for Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud Management, and Asset Management.
- Develop CSDM-aligned Configuration Management Database (CMDB) architectures, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and governance.
- Create custom applications, workflows, and integrations to enhance ServiceNow’s ITOM & ITAM capabilities.
- Optimize ServiceNow Discovery & Service Mapping for multi-cloud and on-premises environments.

Hands-On Development & Platform Engineering
- Develop advanced ServiceNow customizations using JavaScript, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, and REST/SOAP APIs.
- Automate IT operations using ServiceNow Orchestration, PowerShell, Python, and cloud-native solutions.
- Enhance IT Asset Management (Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM)) to optimize software license usage and compliance.
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and scalability of ServiceNow implementations.

CMDB Governance & Data Quality
- Establish and maintain CSDM best practices, aligning CMDB with business services and IT operations.
- Implement data validation rules, reconciliation processes, and integration strategies to maintain CMDB accuracy.
- Work closely with stakeholders to optimize ServiceNow data models for operational intelligence.

Integration & Automation
- Develop robust API integrations between ServiceNow and third-party ITOM/ITAM tools, including cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Automate service workflows using Event Management, AI Operations, and predictive analytics.
- Optimize ITOM health dashboards and reporting to provide real-time insights into IT infrastructure.

Continuous Improvement & Technical Leadership
- Evaluate and implement emerging ServiceNow capabilities, such as AI-driven automation and ITOM Predictive Intelligence.
- Drive continuous platform optimization, reducing technical debt and improving service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams to define best practices, coding standards, and performance tuning techniques.
Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 6+ years specifically in ServiceNow ITOM, ITAM, and CSDM development.

Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs, REST/SOAP APIs, PowerShell, Python).
- Deep understanding of CSDM, CMDB governance, IT Asset Lifecycle Management, and Discovery.
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IT monitoring tools.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, ITOM automation, and event correlation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow MID Servers, Web Services, and Flow Designer.

Certifications:
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – ITOM, ITAM, or CSDM preferred.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) or Certified Application Developer (CAD) is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with emerging trends in IT operations and innovation in automation.
- Previous experience with AI-driven automation tools within ServiceNow or other platforms.
Experience
