Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Accountant and Finance Executive with 5-7 years of experience to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and management of financial operations. You will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions, preparing detailed financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning and analysis. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple financial activities.
Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring proper accounting records, journal entries, and reconciliations are done on time.
- Closing Process: Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial data is complete and accurate.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to monitor financial performance, trends, and forecasts. Provide actionable insights to support business decisions.

Compliance and Internal Controls
- Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations, including VAT/GST, TDS, income tax, and other applicable taxes. Prepare and submit tax returns as required.
- Audits: Coordinate with external auditors for year-end audits, ensuring all required documents and schedules are provided. Address audit queries in a timely and efficient manner.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal control procedures to safeguard financial assets and ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting
- Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation and management of annual budgets and forecasts, working with various departments to collect relevant data and assumptions.
- Variance Analysis: Regularly review budget vs. actuals, providing variance analysis and recommending corrective actions if necessary.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and work closely with the finance team to ensure sufficient funds are available to meet company needs.

Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Team Management: Lead and mentor junior accountants and finance staff, ensuring accurate work is completed in a timely manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (sales, operations, HR) to ensure proper accounting treatment and alignment with financial goals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (CA Intern) is preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory position.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, complex formulas).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Prior experience in coordinating audits and tax filings.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and financial automation tools.
Experience
7-12 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.
Environment
This is a full-time position located in Minto Park, Kolkata.
Salary
The estimated salary range is INR 7,00,000 - INR 10,00,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
