Job Summary

The Assistant Vice President (Credit) will play a critical role in assessing credit risk, conducting due diligence, and structuring investments within the AIF (Alternative Investment Fund) credit department. The candidate will leverage their expertise in credit assessment, financial modeling, and transaction structuring to support investment decisions, monitor portfolio performance, and ensure compliance with investment guidelines. This role reports to the Senior Vice President and contributes to the organization’s goal of delivering superior investment performance through rigorous risk management and thorough analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessment and due diligence of potential investment opportunities in the credit space.
  • Prepare detailed Investment Committee (IC) notes and presentation materials to support investment decisions.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize term sheets with counterparties.
  • Build, review, and validate financial models to evaluate investment viability and risk.
  • Monitor portfolio investments, including tracking performance metrics and covenant compliance (preferred).
  • Conduct in-depth sector and industry research to inform credit assessments (preferred).
  • Coordinate with external legal, financial, and other advisory teams to facilitate transaction execution.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in credit/risk management, preferably within Corporate Banking – Mid-Market Risk/Credit teams of Banks, NBFCs, or Private Credit AIFs.
  • Educational qualifications: CA (Chartered Accountant) (First Attempt) or MBA from a premier Tier-1 institute.
  • Strong financial analysis, credit assessment, and financial modeling skills.
  • Proven experience in transaction structuring and investment due diligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound credit judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in portfolio monitoring, including covenant tracking.
  • Ability to conduct sector and industry research.
  • Familiarity with legal and financial advisory coordination.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration.

Experience

  • 7 to 10 years of professional experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, or related roles within banking, NBFCs, or private credit funds.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing or supporting credit investments and portfolio monitoring.
