Job Summary

The Sr Principal Site Reliability Developer will be an individual contributor responsible for solving complex problems related to infrastructure cloud services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence. This role focuses on design, software deployment, and optimizing the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services, ultimately contributing to the organization’s goals of delivering robust and high-quality cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of multiple services and technology areas.
• Understand and manage the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall functionality of production services.
• Design and deliver a mission-critical stack focusing on security, resiliency, scalability, and performance.
• Act as authority on performance and operability, ensuring high service delivery standards.
• Partner with development teams to define and implement improvements in service architecture.
• Articulate the technical characteristics of services and technology areas, guiding development teams to enhance the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
• Demonstrate knowledge of automation and orchestration principles.
• Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues not yet documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Utilize deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies to troubleshoot issues and define mitigating strategies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or related fields.
• Strong expertise in designing, writing, and deploying software for large-scale distributed systems.
• Excellent analytical and performance tuning skills.
• Proven ability to facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting.
• Professional proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Deep understanding of service architecture and automation principles.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Oracle products and cloud services.
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.
• Experience with performance analysis and system tuning.

Experience

• Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in site reliability, software engineering, or related roles.
• Prior experience with cloud services platforms is preferred.

• This position will be based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
