Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting

Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – Financial Reporting will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for managing financial reporting, month-end closing, MIS, reconciliations, audit coordination, and other core accounting activities. The role requires a proactive individual with strong hands-on experience in accounting and financial reporting, capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment to ensure accurate and timely financial data management.
Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate closure of books.
- Prepare and review financial reports, management reports, and MIS for business and management review.
- Handle accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform regular bank, ledger, vendor, customer, and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Support the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during statutory and financial audits, providing required data and documentation.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries and supporting schedules.
- Assist in accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and other core accounting activities.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to resolve them.
- Support GST, TDS, and other statutory compliance activities as applicable.
- Contribute to improving financial reporting processes, controls, and accounting workflows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely availability of financial data and reports.
Qualifications
- 2 – 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, controllership, or finance.
- Strong hands-on experience in financial reporting and month-end closing.
- Good understanding of MIS preparation, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Experience in audit coordination and audit support.
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and processes.
- Exposure to GST, TDS, and statutory compliance (preferred).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Excel; experience with ERP/accounting software is preferred.
- Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in FMCG, D2C, e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, QSR, or other consumer-facing industries.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with internal teams and auditors.
- Knowledge of advanced Excel functions and ERP systems.
Experience
- 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, controllership, or finance roles.
