Job Summary
As a Key Account Manager — Investor Relations, you will manage a portfolio of investors, build long-term relationships, facilitate investor onboarding, and drive engagement with relevant startup investment opportunities. This role combines relationship management, financial product understanding, investor engagement, and investment process coordination. You will work closely with investors, startup founders, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless investor journey, from onboarding and opportunity evaluation to investment commitment and completion. The role focuses on managing qualified leads and nurturing existing investor relationships rather than independent lead generation.
Responsibilities
- Connect with qualified prospective investors through approximately 4–6 calls per day to introduce the investor club, explain its value proposition, and guide investors through the onboarding process.
- Understand investor profiles, interests, and investment preferences to assess suitability for club membership and facilitate onboarding using leads generated by the central marketing and lead-generation team.
- Own and manage a dedicated portfolio of investors, building long-term and trusted relationships through regular communication to strengthen engagement and participation.
- Encourage investor participation in club activities, networking events, and startup pitch sessions, continuously enhancing engagement, activity, and portfolio quality.
- Present relevant startup investment opportunities based on investor interests and preferences; follow up to convert initial interest and soft commitments into actual investment commitments.
- Guide investors through Know Your Customer (KYC), documentation, and the investment process, coordinating with startup founders, legal teams, Company Secretaries (CS), Chartered Accountants (CAs), and other stakeholders to resolve process-related queries.
- Track follow-ups and facilitate the smooth progression of investments through to completion.
- Develop a sound understanding of startups, business models, and investment opportunities presented through the club.
- Participate in startup pitch calls and facilitate effective communication between investors and founders.
- Address investor queries independently by demonstrating clear understanding of relevant startups and investment opportunities, escalating specialized queries when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- 3–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally with direct exposure to affluent investors or financial services clients.
- Strong relationship management and client engagement capabilities.
- Experience managing High Net-Worth Individuals (HNI), Very High Net-Worth Individuals (VHNI), Ultra High Net-Worth Individuals (UHNI), CXO, angel investor, or investment-oriented clientele.
- Working knowledge of financial products, investment concepts, and investment processes.
- Ability to understand and communicate investment opportunities effectively.
- Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Confidence in independently managing investor conversations and resolving routine queries.
- Strong follow-up discipline and ability to nurture long-term client relationships.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to drive investor interest towards actionable investment commitments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Wealth Management, WealthTech, Private Banking, Investment Banking, Investment Advisory, or Asset Management Companies (AMCs).
- Familiarity with startup ecosystems and early-stage investment processes.
- Ability to explain investment propositions clearly and confidently.
- Experience coordinating with legal, compliance, and financial advisory teams.
Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in investor relations, wealth management, or financial services.
- Demonstrable experience handling affluent/HNI/VHNI/UHNI clients, investors, or comparable senior clientele.
- Exposure to financial products, investment opportunities, or investment processes.
Environment
- Location: Koramangala, Bangalore.
- Work setting involves frequent investor calls, coordination with multiple stakeholders including startup founders and legal teams.
- Role requires strong communication and multitasking in a dynamic, investor-focused environment.
- Immediate joining priority.
