Job Title: Category Leader
Location: Bangalore, India
Role Overview:
This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role for a self-driven Category Creator to lead Practo’s next wave of consumer-centric innovation. As a core member of the Strategy Office, you will spearhead new category development from 0-to-1, owning the journey from opportunity discovery to scaled launch.
Your mission is to decode unmet healthcare needs for India’s urban SEC A audience, design compelling value propositions that drive daily relevance and usage, and build scalable, tech-first solutions that deliver tangible health outcomes and create platform stickiness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Discover & Design New Categories
● Deeply embed yourself in consumer lives to uncover under-served or broken healthcare journeys.
● Identify spaces where:
○ There’s a clear user need or pain point.
○ Existing solutions and pricing are fragmented or inefficient.
○ Practo’s trusted brand, data advantage, and tech stack can deliver a unique win.
2. 0→1 Staged Experiments & Validation
● Design staged, hyperlocal experiments — e.g., testing new offerings in one neighborhood or city.
● Focus on learning, not immediate scale: uncover how users move from discovery → engagement → transaction.
● Validate success at each stage with clear metrics
● Progress only those initiatives that prove sustainable value across all chosen dimensions — ensuring no accidental surprises at scale.
3. Launch & Scale
● Once experiments meet success criteria, plan and execute city-level launches.
● Rigorously monitor launch performance to ensure business model integrity.
● Scale successful offerings gradually across multiple cities — managing risk and maintaining quality.
4. Execution & P&L Ownership
● Be the end-to-end owner of the new category:
○ Consumer experience & conversion funnel
○ Business model & pricing choices
○ P&L responsibility
○ Cross-functional squad leadership across Product, Tech, Ops, Design, Marketing.
○ Team leadership — build and mentor the right talent for each stage.
