Job Summary

The Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the tax compliance, planning, and advisory functions for corporate clients or the organization. This role ensures accurate and timely filing of tax returns, advises on tax-efficient strategies, monitors regulatory changes, and manages relationships with tax authorities. The Corporate Tax Manager plays a critical part in minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring full compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the preparation and filing of all corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s or clients’ tax position.
  • Research and stay updated on current tax legislation and regulatory changes; communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on complex tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and cross-border transactions.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external auditors or tax authorities as required.
  • Review and improve internal tax processes, controls, and documentation to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation and financial software.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or related field.
  • Experience with international tax regulations and cross-border transactions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax software.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience leading or mentoring junior staff.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate tax or related tax advisory roles.
  • Experience in a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing complex tax compliance and planning projects.

Environment

  • The role may be offered as either an internship or a full-time position, depending on the candidate’s experience and the organization’s needs.
