The Senior Global Legal Counsel / Senior Lawyer will serve as a strategic legal partner, providing expert legal, regulatory, compliance, and commercial guidance across multiple international jurisdictions. With over 10 years of post-qualification experience, the successful candidate will lead legal advisory efforts related to AI, technology, data privacy, and cross-border transactions, ensuring the company's operations and products are compliant with global laws and regulations. This role involves working closely with senior management, business teams, external counsel, and stakeholders to support the company's global expansion and technological innovation.
Global Legal & Regulatory Advisory
Provide strategic legal advice on business operations across the US, Singapore, and European jurisdictions. Monitor and interpret applicable international laws, regulations, and developments. Advise leadership on legal risks related to global expansion, products, partnerships, and commercial activities. Coordinate with local and international external counsel for jurisdiction-specific advice.
AI, Technology & Data Law
Advise on legal and regulatory issues concerning AI, generative AI, machine learning, SaaS, and emerging technologies. Support compliance with relevant U.S., Singaporean, and European frameworks. Provide guidance on data protection, privacy, data transfers, cybersecurity, and data governance. Review legal implications of AI models, datasets, automated decision-making, and intellectual property.
Commercial & Corporate Legal
Draft, review, and negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs), SaaS and technology agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs, Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), vendor and procurement contracts, partnership agreements, employment, and consulting agreements. Support corporate transactions, investments, fundraising, restructuring, and international expansion. Develop and maintain legal policies, templates, and contract processes.
Privacy & Compliance
Develop and oversee global privacy and compliance programs. Advise on U.S. privacy laws, Singapore’s PDPA, and European GDPR. Collaborate with security, engineering, product, HR, and compliance teams to identify and mitigate regulatory risks. Support regulatory inquiries, audits, investigations, and compliance assessments.
Intellectual Property
Advise on the protection, licensing, ownership, and commercialization of software, AI/ML technologies, algorithms, datasets, trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. Develop strategies for IP protection across jurisdictions.
Risk Management & Governance
Identify and assess legal and regulatory risks associated with international operations. Develop risk mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives. Support corporate governance, board matters, policies, and regulatory compliance. Maintain a robust legal-risk framework suitable for a rapidly growing technology company.
Educational Qualifications:
LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent recognized law degree.
