Manager - Litigation
Job Summary
The Manager - Litigation will oversee and manage all legal proceedings involving the organization. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with legal standards and effectively handling litigation matters to protect the organization's interests.
Responsibilities
- Handle and follow up on court cases as required, ensuring timely coordination with other departments for necessary information and documents.
- Collaborate with external advocates to manage litigations pending before various courts, including RERA, Consumer Forums, Civil Court, High Court, and Supreme Court.
- Track and monitor all litigations, providing timely updates on day-to-day court proceedings.
- Draft legal notices and replies, review and vet drafts shared by external advocates, and ensure timely filing of documents with the concerned court.
- Conduct title due diligence, prepare preliminary title reports, evaluate land records, and highlight risks and mitigation strategies related to land-related cases.
- Draft agreements to sell, sale deeds, Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), lease deeds, and other contracts.
- Stay updated on existing laws and changes governing real estate development, capitalizing on emerging opportunities for the organization.
- Ensure effective management of legal documents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; a Master’s degree (LLM) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and real estate laws.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external legal counsel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal research and document management.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in litigation management, preferably in real estate law.
Environment
- Work setting is in-office, located in Bengaluru. The role requires regular interaction with various departments and external legal representatives.
