Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Redis Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize Redis databases and caching infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of Redis systems across development and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade Redis in standalone, Sentinel, or clustered environments.
  • Monitor Redis servers using tools like Redis CLI, Redis Insight, and external monitoring solutions (Prometheus/Grafana).
  • Set up Redis replication, persistence (RDB/AOF), and backup/restore strategies.
  • Configure and manage Redis Sentinel for high availability and automated failover.
  • Manage Redis Clusters and partitioning for scaling applications.
  • Tune Redis performance: memory usage, command efficiency, and key management.
  • Ensure security through user access control, TLS/SSL setup, and firewall rules.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Redis connectivity, memory leaks, and command latency.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and application teams for Redis integration and best practices.
  • Document Redis architecture, operational runbooks, and recovery procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Redis administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Redis Sentinel, Cluster mode, RDB & AOF persistence.
  • Experience in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and system tools.
  • Experience with cloud Redis solutions (AWS ElastiCache, Azure Redis, GCP MemoryStore).
  • Monitoring and alerting setup with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of network, memory, and CPU resource management in Redis.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Exposure to containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Redis certification is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Redis administration.
