Job Summary

The Equity Research Analyst (Pharma) is responsible for conducting comprehensive research on pharmaceutical companies and the sector as a whole. The role involves building detailed financial models, performing valuation analyses, analyzing financial statements, tracking industry trends, and providing actionable investment recommendations. The analyst will contribute to the investment decision-making process by delivering in-depth insights and analysis, supporting the firm's investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth company and sector research within the pharmaceutical industry to identify investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation frameworks to assess company worth and investment potential.
• Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to evaluate company performance.
• Track and interpret industry trends, regulatory developments, and macroeconomic factors affecting the Pharma sector.
• Present clear, data-driven investment recommendations and insights to the investment team.
• Collaborate with the investment team to refine research methodologies and improve analytical processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in equity research, preferably with a focus on the Pharma sector.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) landscape, with an emphasis on sector-specific dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, research, and presentation skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data platforms.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in both buy-side and sell-side research firms.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulatory environments and clinical development processes.
• Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience

• 4+ years of relevant experience in equity research, with demonstrated expertise in the Pharma sector.
• Experience working as an individual contributor in a research or analytical role.

• The role is likely to be based in an office setting, with potential for hybrid work arrangements.
• The position involves detailed analytical work, requiring focus and precision.
• The candidate will report directly to the CIO, Vinay Paharia.

Salary

• Fixed Compensation: ₹40 Lakhs per annum.
• Performance-Based Variable Pay: Additional incentives based on performance.
