Job Summary

The Scientist / Sr. Scientist in New Product Development (NPD) will play a crucial role in the formulation, prototyping, and product development of various dosage forms. This position requires a strong technical background and hands-on experience in product development, as well as the ability to collaborate with multiple functions to drive innovation and meet consumer needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of pre-formulations, prototyping, and product development for various dosage forms.
• Interact and coordinate with different functions for various activities related to product development.
• Conduct wet and instrumental analysis of relevant product categories and raw materials.
• Utilize measurement techniques to characterize and predict product behavior over time.
• Follow protocols and test methods to measure functional and aesthetic performance.
• Develop protocols to evaluate product performance to support claim substantiation.
• Analyze and evaluate competitor products to inform development strategies.
• Participate in pilot plant and plant-level scale-up activities.
• Document the product development pathway through suitable reports and dossiers to support Technology Transfer.
• Collaborate on relevant projects with academia to enhance the scientific base within the organization and leverage learnings for commercial advantage.
• Contribute innovative and disruptive ideas in relevant categories.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of product formulations and consumer expectations.
• Knowledge of both instrumental and non-instrumental methods for evaluating product categories.
• Demonstrated practical application of knowledge in innovation projects.
• Analytical abilities with proficiency in statistical tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• An appetite for learning and an open mind for innovation.

Experience

• Relevant experience in product development, particularly in formulation and prototyping, is preferred.

Environment

• This position is based in Mumbai and requires full-time, in-office work.
