Application Production Support
Job Summary
The Application Production Support role is responsible for managing and supporting application and infrastructure components in a production environment. This includes incident management, problem resolution, change management, capacity planning, and deployment automation. The role ensures system stability, performance, and security while coordinating with various stakeholders to meet deadlines and improve operational processes. The position contributes to the organization’s goals by maintaining high availability and reliability of production systems and supporting continuous delivery practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage incident lifecycle including analysis, communication, coordination, correction, and post-incident reviews (PIRs).
- Create and follow up on problem tickets to ensure timely resolution.
- Oversee change management processes including review, validation, and technical implementation.
- Monitor and supervise application and infrastructure components, including obsolescence and vulnerability management.
- Plan capacity and coordinate disaster recovery plan (DRP) technical management.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation such as operating procedures and referential data.
- Perform morning and evening system checks to ensure operational readiness.
- Define technical solutions and schedules in collaboration with stakeholders, committing to deadlines.
- Provision production and infrastructure resources across all environments.
- Integrate applications technically using existing products and services.
- Implement technical user stories independently or by coordinating with relevant teams (BP21 and ITGP).
- Implement monitoring and supervision tools following FinOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) guidelines.
- Facilitate team upskilling and promote automation of application deployment and operational tasks.
- Identify and implement the best deployment strategies in collaboration with development teams.
- Migrate to up-to-date Continuous Deployment tools as per toolchain roadmap.
- Share automation use cases with the community to promote reuse.
- Promote standard architectures, solutions, and products.
- Feed product backlog with production requirements and coordinate stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Identify and share best practices related to production support.
- Support development teams to secure and accelerate project delivery.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with middleware technologies such as WebSphere, CFT, MQSeries, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and associated tools including Docker, Helm, and ArgoCD.
- Skilled in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and Release management.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, LogDna, and Sysdig.
- Strong scripting skills in Ansible, Shell, and SQL.
- Experience with scheduling management tools such as Autosys.
- Proficient in tracking and ticketing tools like ServiceNow and JIRA.
- Understanding of network protocols and database management.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with ITIL framework and experience handling Incident, Problem, and Change management.
- General IT infrastructure knowledge.
- Preferably experienced with banking applications.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to measure and identify areas for quality and delivery improvement.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Comfortable working in shifts including morning, evening, on-call weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with banking or financial applications.
- Advanced knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
- Expertise in automation and deployment strategies.
- Familiarity with FinOps guidelines and cost optimization practices.
Experience
- Relevant experience in application production support, incident management, and infrastructure monitoring.
- Experience working in hybrid environments supporting critical production systems.
- Proven track record in coordinating with multiple IT teams and stakeholders.
Environment
- Work mode is hybrid, based in Chennai.
- The role requires shift work including morning, evening, on-call weekends, and holidays.

Salary
- Estimated salary: ₹3,500,000 INR per annum.
