Job Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Azure Cloud technologies. This role requires a strong hands-on experience with Azure environments and will contribute to the modernization of infrastructure by transitioning services from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to Platform as a Service (PaaS). The engineer will work closely with application architects and DevOps teams to create solutions that ensure reliability, availability, and performance in the cloud.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strong hands-on experience in Azure environment services including PaaS and IaaS.
• Utilize Azure PowerShell scripting for deploying resources efficiently.
• Manage identity services, including IAM, PIM, and EntraID management.
• Define and implement cloud services like Azure VMs, Storage, VNet, and Firewalls.
• Collaborate with teams to modernize IaaS applications and ensure security compliance across all cloud solutions.
• Create proof-of-concepts to validate potential solutions and identify best practices.
• Provide consultative support for production incidents and drive system reliability and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or higher.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of relevant experience in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of Azure technologies including:
  • IAM and PIM
  • Networking (VNet, Firewalls, load balancers, ExpressRoute)
  • Cloud Storage (Azure Files, Managed Disks)
  • Database services (SQL DB, CosmosDB, PostgreSQL)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, ARM, and Terraform
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Monitoring and recovery services (Azure Backup, Monitor, Site Recovery)

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Services and Azure ARC.
• Experience with hybrid solutions involving WAN networking and VPN.

Experience

• 6-8 years of relevant experience in Azure cloud environments and cloud service management.

Environment

• The role will be based in Bangalore or Chennai and may involve working in a rotational shift schedule.
