Job Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality data is available for analysis by performing data ingestion and transformations from various sources. This position contributes to the organization’s goals by designing, developing, and implementing data models within the Data Warehouse, utilizing advanced technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Data ingestion and transformations from various sources to ensure high-quality data availability for analysis.
  • Design, develop, and implement data models within the Data Warehouse using star schemas and other best practices.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless data delivery and updates.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, preferably automated, to validate the accuracy and reliability of data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data testers to identify and address data quality and integrity issues.
  • Maintain relevant DevOps tasks up-to-date and provide daily updates on progress and challenges.
  • Work autonomously on complex data engineering tasks and deliver high-quality results.
  • Utilize expertise in DWH data modeling to create efficient and effective data structures.
  • Apply proficiency in Snowflake and AWS cloud technologies to build scalable and performant data solutions.
  • Use cloud ETL tooling such as DBT and Prefect to streamline data transformation processes.
  • Leverage strong skills in SQL and Python to develop and optimize data pipelines.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles, focusing on data ingestion, transformations, and Data Warehouse (DWH) modeling.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data models using star schemas.
  • Strong proficiency in Snowflake and AWS cloud services.
  • Experience with cloud ETL tooling, such as DBT and Prefect, is a plus.
  • Solid programming skills in SQL and Python.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps practices for seamless data engineering operations.
  • Experience with Snowflake utilities, Snow SQL, Snow Pipe, and Big Data model techniques using Python.
  • Experience working in AWS cloud environments and utilizing relevant services for data engineering tasks.
  • Previous experience in an Agile/Scrum lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with additional cloud services and ETL tools.

Experience

  • A minimum of 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering.
