Job Summary
The Solace Engineer will be responsible for engineering, configuring, and administering Solace messaging solutions. This role significantly contributes to the Middleware Engineering team and supports cloud infrastructure. The candidate must have a strong willingness to learn and support additional technologies such as IBM MQ and IBM ACE.
Responsibilities
- Perform engineering, configuration, and administration tasks for Solace messaging.
- Architect and deploy messaging infrastructure using Solace PubSub+ / Advanced Event Mesh across cloud environments.
- Define and implement event-driven strategies, leveraging features such as event mesh, topic hierarchies, and dynamic routing.
- Configure Solace components for optimal performance, ensuring robust security and monitoring of environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate Solace with microservices, APIs, and platforms like Kafka, JMS, and MQTT.
- Troubleshoot complex messaging issues related to latency, throughput, and durability.
- Automate setup and monitoring processes using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Conduct research on product capabilities and perform proof of concepts (POCs) for new features.
Qualifications

Essential Skills:
- Solace Messaging
- Cloud (AWS preferred)
- Scripting using Korn Shell Scripts, Perl, etc.

Experience Requirements:
- Total Years of Experience: 5+ years
- Years of Experience in Solace: 1-2 years

Preferred Technology Stack:
- TIBCO, IBM MQ, and IBM ACE
- EKS/Kubernetes/OpenShift
- AWS certifications on DevOps/SysOps/Architect track preferred

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of scripting using Korn Shell Scripts and Perl.
- Experience with platform RedHat Linux.
- Flexible, positive attitude with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Team player who can make independent decisions.
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in messaging systems and cloud environments.
