Job Summary

The Operations Specialist - Management Accounting is responsible for the complete, timely, and qualitative execution of accounting operations activities within their scope. This role contributes to the reliability of financial statements in accordance with group standards and subgroup reporting requirements. The specialist ensures best practices in relevant processes and aligns SAP system design with group and subgroup standards to meet local and global business steering requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute accounting operations activities timely and completely as defined by the supervisor.
• Ensure data quality and SAP system setup comply with group standards and divisional requirements, supporting local business steering needs.
• Liaise with business functions (Controlling, Sales & Marketing, Production) to clarify business requirements and manage changes to Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), and Controlling Profitability Analysis (COPA) master data.
• Support legal entities’ closing processes by reviewing closing results and coordinating follow-ups with divisions and functions.
• Perform manual postings where applicable and create tickets/requests for new or adjusted master data (cost centers, internal orders, cost elements, cycle/cost allocations).
• Monitor data quality, identify correction needs, and perform adjustments for CCA, PCA, and COPA; verify cost center results during closing.
• Conduct service accounting activities such as project invoicing and asset sale invoicing, analyze requests, check master data parameters, and request master data.
• Provide specialized ad hoc and project support specific to the area of expertise.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in General Accounting, Product Costing, Financial Analysis, or related areas.
• Proficient in SAP ERP Financial Accounting/Controlling (FI/CO) modules with a strong understanding of interfaces with other modules.
• Fundamental knowledge of global accounting and controlling processes and their intersections with other business processes.
• Deep understanding of subgroup value flows and controlling logic.
• Strong communication skills and analytical thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; additional languages are a plus.
• Preferred: Chartered Accountant and/or Cost Accountant certification.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Bayer Group accounting and reporting requirements, especially PA/IV and/or VFM in accordance with the Bayer Cost Accounting Directive.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Bayer Group accounting and reporting standards.
• Familiarity with PA/IV and VFM processes.
• Additional language skills beyond English.

Experience

• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in accounting, costing, or financial analysis roles.

• Work location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
• Work mode: Hybrid (combination of remote and in-office work).
• Full-time position.

Salary

• Salary range: INR 8 to 11 lakhs per annum.
