Job Summary

The Platform Engineering Engineer 3 is responsible for managing, administering, and supporting highly-available hosted environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems, contributing to the organization's goals by ensuring robust application deployment and support in both public cloud and private hosting environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support highly-available hosted environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Design, implement, and maintain distributed systems to meet organizational needs.
• Develop, deploy, and support applications in both public cloud and private hosting environments.
• Facilitate and participate in systems design reviews to enhance system architecture.
• Automate the deployment of applications using desired state configuration, PowerShell, or other automation languages.
• Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing, administering, or supporting highly-available hosted environments.
• 3+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining distributed systems.
• 5+ years of experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications in public cloud and private hosting environments.
• 3+ years of experience with Windows web hosting.
• 3+ years of experience with Windows Server Active Directory (AD) and/or Entra ID.
• 3+ years of experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., GitHub, DevOps, TFS).
• 1+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Certification in Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, or Kubernetes is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting, deploying, or authoring .NET applications in Windows Internet Information Services (IIS).
• A proactive attitude towards learning in inexperienced areas.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in platform engineering and support roles.
