Job Summary
As the Key Account Manager (KAM) for the West region, you will be responsible for architecting the commercial growth engine, developing customer acquisition strategies, and establishing a multi-channel revenue pipeline across macronutrients, functional ingredients, and other nutrition-focused categories. You will serve as the primary commercial anchor for B2B customers, manage co-development briefs, and be directly accountable for translating advanced ingredient solutions into commercially successful projects.
Responsibilities
- Account Architecture & Pipeline Management: Design and execute go-to-market (GTM) and account expansion strategies for the West India region while establishing standard operating procedures (SOPs) for outreach and customer interaction.
- Commercial Strategy: Conduct account-level commercial mapping across various sectors, own the commercialization approach for the import portfolio, and remain updated on market trends.
- Business Development & Revenue Innovation: Lead revenue generation across everyday food formats, secure co-development briefs, and drive commercial pipelines for optimizations.
- Customer Collaboration & Co-Development Management: Work directly with B2B customer teams to translate sensory, texture, and cost parameters into actionable product solutions.
- Commercial IP & Regulatory Alignment: Maintain knowledge of labeling laws and compliance guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards for delivery, pricing, and quality.
- Scale-Up & Commercialization: Support scale-up activities and manufacturing trials, ensuring successful volume transfers from pilot batches to commercial orders.
- Team Building & Culture: Recruit, mentor, and lead account executives, fostering a commercial culture of innovation and excellence.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8-12 years in Food Ingredients, Nutrition, and Specialty Ingredients within the F&B industry.
- Account Management: Strong background in Key Account Management and Business Development roles.
- Prior Experience: Mandatory experience with organizations such as Kerry, DuPont, Ingredion, DSM Firmenich, Givaudan, and others.
- Application Knowledge: Understanding of bakery, biscuits, flours, and savory snacks formulation.
- Relationship Management: Strong relationships with key decision-makers in the food, beverage, and nutrition sectors.
- Commercial Knowledge: Expertise in nutrition-linked formulations and ingredients (e.g., proteins, fibers, starches).
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to engage in co-development discussions with R&D teams.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the food sector.
- Experience in project management and team leadership.
Experience
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in key account management and business development within the F&B industry, especially in West India (Maharashtra and Gujarat).
Environment
- The role is based in Mumbai, India and may require extensive travel for sales visits, presentations, and relationship building.
