Job Summary

The Senior Manager – Exports will develop and implement comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) for export processes, ensuring efficient and compliant shipments to international markets. This role is pivotal in enhancing operational efficiency, minimizing delays, and ensuring adherence to regulations throughout the export process.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement end-to-end SOPs for export processes.
• Negotiate with freight forwarders on freight and all cost components.
• Onboard new forwarders in China, Vietnam, and India for US, UK, and other Amazon markets.
• Establish controls to minimize shipment delays, documentation errors, and compliance risks.
• Oversee preparation and verification of all export documentation, including Commercial Invoices (CI), Packing Lists (PL), shipping bills, Bill of Lading (BL), Certificates of Origin (COO), and insurance documents.
• Maintain a Management Information System (MIS) to track activities and shipments/costs.
• Onboard customs clearance agents in India and the US.
• Track and monitor the entire export process to ensure timely delivery of goods to destination.
• Manage relationships with freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, and logistics partners.

Qualifications

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with deep expertise in international trade execution and customs compliance.
• Prior experience in handling exports from India, China, and Vietnam into US and UK.
• Strong knowledge of International Commercial Terms (INCO terms), all export documentation, DGFT, FEMA, and trade regulations.
• Ability to understand processes, structures, and potential pitfalls of activities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in managing complex export operations in a sizeable product company.
• Proven expertise in a leadership role managing export operations teams with a focus on customs regulations, international documentation, and freight management.

Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of overall experience managing export operations within a sizeable product company.
