Job Description
Reviewing US Individual & Business tax returns (Form 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S) including State income tax return.
•
Expertise in International information reporting (Form 5471/5472/8865/FBAR/8938).
•
Understand the clients' filing requirements in the event of gift & inheritance.
•
Review the business financials and suggest improvements in managing books, payroll, and other services as needed.
•
Verify and report any vendor/interest/dividend payments for 1099 filings.
•
Responsible for managing extensive client leads end-to-end, including data gathering, validation, client clarifications, review, delivery of returns, and billing.
•
Manage each client’s tax compliance, setting clear expectations for work scope and delivery timelines.
•
Recognize complex client issues and effectively communicate those to the Manager/Director and client at the appropriate time.
•
Oversee all compliance processes and monitor various filing requirements.
•
Actively build and maintain strong client relationships.
•
Full involvement in the billing process and client follow-ups.
Other Responsibilities:
•
Solid understanding of US tax implications for business owners, as well as business & individual tax filings.
•
Research, analyze, and interpret changing tax rules and regulations.
•
Explain tax laws to clients, helping them understand their legal obligations and adapt to changes in tax legislation.
•
Represent clients before the IRS for tax matters with proper Power of Attorney (POA).
•
Participate in consultancy and research projects.
•
Regularly contribute to in-house training meetings/management group meetings.
•
Supervise Tax Assistants in collaboration with managers, contributing to their career development.
•
Experience working with Drake/Lacerte tax software is an added advantage.
Specific Skill Set:
•
Proficient in understanding various reports from accounting & payroll software.
•
Strong general computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, PPT, PDF, etc.).
•
Excellent communication, customer service management, and presentation skills.
•
Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities and strong analytical and technical research skills.
•
Capable of mentoring and guiding junior staff.
•
Able to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
•
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
•
