Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) solutions using the Microsoft Business Intelligence (MSBI) suite. This role is crucial for supporting retail business units by providing insightful reports and dashboards that drive data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end BI solutions using the MSBI suite (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Create complex Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) packages in SSIS to gather data from various retail systems.
• Develop operational and analytical reports and dashboards in SSRS to support areas such as sales, inventory, and supply chain.
• Build and maintain SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes for multidimensional analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data analysts, and stakeholders to gather BI requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
• Optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BI solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot BI processes and data issues.
• Stay updated with retail industry trends and BI best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with MSBI tools: SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL frameworks.
• Proficient in T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Experience working with large volumes of retail transactional data.
• Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS), inventory, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), or loyalty systems in retail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI or other modern data visualization tools.
• Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, SQL Server on Azure, or other cloud BI solutions.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
