Snowflake Data Engineer
Job Summary
The Snowflake Data Engineer internship focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and other modern cloud-based tools. The role emphasizes optimizing data workflows, ensuring data quality and security, and supporting cross-functional teams with data-driven solutions. This position contributes directly to the organization’s ability to make informed, data-driven decisions by providing high-quality, well-architected data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake and other cloud-based tools.
- Implement data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes from various sources (e.g., APIs, flat files, databases).
- Optimize Snowflake performance through clustering, partitioning, and query tuning.
- Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand and deliver on data requirements.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data pipelines and storage solutions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to data architecture, processes, and best practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely diagnosis and resolution.
- Utilize and work with tools such as medallion architecture, Matillion, DBT models, and SNP Glu.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, SnowSQL, etc.).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with scripting languages like Python or Shell.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as dbt, Apache Airflow, Informatica, or Talend.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and services like S3, Lambda, or Data Factory.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, a willingness to reskill, and the ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
- Active team player, dedicated to innovation and going the extra mile.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with medallion architecture, Matillion, DBT models, and SNP Glu.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and tools quickly.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
