Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for
overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s operations, strategic growth, and long-term
sustainability. This role requires a commercially astute leader with a strong grasp of FMCG industry
dynamics—particularly in retail, wholesale and distribution—capable of balancing financial
discipline with agility in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Responsibilities
. Financial Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with overall business
objectives.
Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors based on financial
analysis and projections, cost identification, and revenue/expense management.
Drive profitability and sustainable growth across both retail, wholesale & distribution
divisions.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
2. Financial Management & Reporting
Oversee preparation and accuracy of financial statements, management reports, and
performance dashboards.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory reporting
requirements.
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Manage working capital, liquidity, and cash flow to support operational efficiency and
expansion plans.
3. Business Performance & Operational Excellence
Partner with sales, procurement, and operations teams to optimize pricing, margins, and
inventory turnover.
Monitor key business metrics such as sales per store, SKU profitability, inventory days,
and credit cycles.
Implement cost optimization and efficiency initiatives across supply chain and distribution
functions.
Oversee financial systems implementation and data integrity in ERP and POS
environments.

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks.
Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards, regulatory compliance, and audit
requirements.
Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.
Oversee insurance, credit control, and debt management policies.
5. Strategic Growth & Investment
Evaluate new business opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
Conduct financial due diligence and support capital investment decisions.
Drive initiatives for business expansion, digital transformation, and profitability
enhancement.
Manage capital structure, fundraising, and investor relations where applicable.
Qualifications
Education:
o Professional qualification: CA.
o MBA in Finance or Strategic Management is an advantage.
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Experience:
o Minimum 20–25 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
o At least 8 years in a senior finance role (CFO, Finance Director, or GM – Finance)
within an FMCG, retail and wholesale environment.
o Proven track record in managing complex supply chain and distribution-driven
financial models.
o Experience in ERP implementation and financial automation preferred.
