Role Overview:
Arihant Capital Markets Ltd. is seeking a seasoned professional to lead the Business Development function of its
Merchant Banking Division. The candidate will be responsible for driving origination, client acquisition, deal
structuring, and execution across capital market and advisory products including IPOs, FPOs, Rights Issues, Open
Offers, Delisting, Buybacks, Valuations, and other SEBI-regulated transactions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership:
• Define and implement business development strategies to expand the Merchant Banking footprint.
• Lead the client acquisition strategy focused on mid-sized corporates, SMEs, and family-owned businesses.
• Build and manage a high-performing business development team.
2. Client Origination & Deal Sourcing:
• Identify and onboard potential clients for IPOs, FPOs, Rights Issues, and M&A advisory.
• Maintain strong relationships with promoters, CFOs, and key decision-makers.
• Build strategic alliances with intermediaries, law firms, accounting firms, and PE/VC players for deal sourcing.3. Transaction Execution:
• Partner with the execution team to support due diligence, documentation, regulatory approvals, and listing
process.
• Oversee proposal creation, pitch decks, and mandate documentation.
4. Regulatory & Compliance Awareness:
• Stay updated on SEBI, MCA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Ensure client mandates are in line with regulatory norms.
5. Revenue & Target Management:
• Achieve business development targets and contribute to the division’s revenue.
• Track performance metrics lead continuous improvement in deal conversion rates.
Candidate Profile
Professional Experience
• MBA (Finance) / CA / CFA with 12–18 years of relevant experience in Merchant Banking / Investment
Banking.
• Proven track record of sourcing and closing capital market deals (IPO/FPO/Buyback/Delisting).
• Sound understanding of SEBI ICDR, LODR, SAST, Takeover, and Listing Regulations.
• Strong client network in corporate India, particularly mid-cap and SME sectors.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
