Job Summary

The National Sales Development Manager (NSDM) is responsible for enhancing sales capabilities, managing sales performance, and driving the implementation of effective sales processes and tools across the organization. The NSDM will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure top-tier sales execution and support strategic Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives that align with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Capability Development: Design and roll out training modules for Sales Officers (SOs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs), and frontline field force including induction, functional, and refresher training.
  • Performance Management: Own and drive sales key performance indicators (KPIs) through regular data-driven reviews, building performance trackers, dashboards, and scorecards at both regional and national levels.
  • Processes & Tools: Standardize Sales Operating Processes (SOPs) across regions, collaborate with IT/Tech teams for the automation and digitization of sales tools, and ensure compliance with sales systems.
  • Sales Execution Excellence: Design and audit standards for execution (e.g., Perfect Store / Must-Win Execution Standards), roll out visibility programs and incentivize national sales contests.
  • Go-To-Market (GTM) Projects: Support the GTM strategy by ensuring effective implementation at the frontlines and aligning internal stakeholders for seamless sales interventions.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: MBA in Sales or Marketing from a reputed institute.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in FMCG sales, with a minimum of 3-4 years in a capability-building or sales development role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of General Trade (GT) and Modern Trade (MT) operations, field realities, and sales automation tools.
