Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for India will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, overseeing the entire financial function of the company in India. This role is pivotal in shaping financial strategy, managing capital structure, and ensuring fiscal health during a period of rapid expansion. The CFO will lead a finance team, manage fundraising efforts, optimize costs, and build strong banking relationships to support the company's growth objectives. The position requires a dynamic leader capable of balancing operational excellence with strategic financial planning to drive sustainable growth.
Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), MIS & Business Performance:
Drive long-term financial planning, annual operating plans, rolling forecasts, and CapEx budgets aligned with corporate strategy. Design and implement automated MIS reporting structures to provide real-time insights and establish platform cost-allocation frameworks with ROI/feasibility evaluations. -
Project Finance & Contract Costing:
Oversee financial evaluation throughout project lifecycles, including pre-bid cost estimation, tender evaluation, and project handover. Implement Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) accounting to monitor milestone billings, revenue recognition, and cost projections, while preventing cost overruns through early-warning metrics. -
Working Capital & Cash Flow Management:
Manage liquidity cycles, optimize inventory turns, and monitor project inventory to minimize trapped capital. Oversee cash flow management strategies, including advance payments, milestone retentions, and bank guarantees. -
Controllership, Governance & Internal Controls:
Oversee accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and statutory audits. Ensure internal financial controls, risk management frameworks, and governance processes are strictly followed, maintaining 100% statutory compliance. -
Leadership & Board Governance:
Present financial results, capital strategies, and risk profiles to the CEO, Board, and investors. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. -
Treasury & Liquidity Management (Preferred):
Oversee treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and risk management related to foreign exchange, interest rates, and hedging. Manage asset-liability matching to ensure long-term debt obligations align with cash flow cycles.
Qualifications
- Approximately 20 years of relevant experience in finance, with a strong background in industrial, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
- Deep knowledge of Ind AS/IFRS, Companies Act, GST, direct and indirect tax, and corporate governance norms.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or project cost control, margin management, and working capital optimization.
- Strong expertise in FP&A, business partnering, and board-level presentation skills.
- Experience working with PE/VC investors, private credit funds, banks, and institutional lenders is advantageous.
- Educational qualifications: CA, MBA in Finance, CFA, or equivalent.
