Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Frontend Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development using React and related frameworks. This role involves creating high-quality production-ready front-end applications and ensuring the ongoing maintenance and scalability of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Creating prototypes and high-quality production-ready React/NextJS front-end single-page applications.
• Driving forward the quality of code through unit testing, accessibility checks, performance optimization, and code reviews.
• Delivering on an Agile workstream of front-end developers, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and estimates.
• Engaging in confident conversations with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
• Building modular layouts and reusable code libraries for future use.
• Representing the front-end team in client-facing capacities.
• Collaborating with design and marketing teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements for development.
• Involvement in existing and new integrations for the platform.
• Taking full end-to-end ownership from idea to delivery, including ongoing maintenance, expansion, and scaling.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in hands-on React development with a solid understanding of core concepts.
• Strong commercial experience in serverless development and server-side development with NextJS.
• Solid understanding of state management technologies/approaches (e.g., Redux, Flux).
• Extensive experience with a type checking language (preferably TypeScript).
• Mastery of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS), and JavaScript (ES6+) while adhering to industry coding standards.
• Extensive experience with unit testing, end-to-end testing, and regression testing (using tools like Jest, React-testing-libraries, and Cypress).
• Solid understanding of Agile methodology, including story point estimation, refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint demos.
• Experience in mentoring junior members of the team.
• Familiarity with component development using Storybook.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, covering performance optimization, accessibility, SEO, security, and usability.
• Commercial experience using GIT in a large development team with Continuous Integration.
• Excellent communication skills allowing direct interaction with team members and stakeholders.
• Proficient understanding of fluid responsive layouts and cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Commercial experience in working on Single Page Applications (SPAs), ideally within e-commerce.
• Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Grunt and webpack.
• Willingness to contribute to both large, complex projects as well as smaller tasks as needed.
• Experience integrating with various external third-party systems.
