Job Summary

As the Lead Mobile Engineer, you will own the architecture, development, and deployment of our Android mobile applications. You’ll lead by example writing clean, efficient, and scalable native code while mentoring developers, influencing design decisions, and ensuring top-notch performance and reliability across all mobile touchpoints. We’re looking for someone who has deep expertise in native Android development and has been part of mobile app launches from ground up and has successfully scaled.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development of our native Android applications.
  • Architect and implement scalable, maintainable, and testable codebases using Clean Architecture (MVP/MVVM/MVI).
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver high-quality, performance-oriented mobile experiences.
  • Drive adoption of best coding practices, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) integration, and performance optimization.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to building a high-performing mobile team.
  • Stay updated with the latest Android trends, frameworks, and tools to keep our tech stack cutting-edge.

Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of experience in native Android development, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior engineer capacity.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling apps from early stages (preferably in a startup environment).
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, security, and memory management in mobile apps.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a proactive problem-solving mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Languages:
    • Java / Kotlin (Expert)
    • JavaScript (Intermediate)
  • Technologies & Frameworks:
    • RxJava / RxKotlin / Coroutines
    • Android Architecture patterns (MVP / MVVM / MVI / Clean Architecture)
    • Testing: JUnit / Mockk
    • Node.js (Beginner level – good to have)

Experience

A minimum of 6–8 years in software development with 2 years in a leadership role within the Android development sphere.
