Education Japan also organizes Sakura Quest, a growing Indo-Japan education and cultural platform that connects students, universities, schools, institutions, and organizations from both India and Japan.
Job Summary
The Manager – Strategy & Operations is a high-ownership role aimed at individuals who excel at solving complex business problems, building systems, driving execution, and collaborating across multiple functions. This position involves close collaboration with the Founder and leadership team to foster business growth, enhance operational excellence, and implement strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Business Growth
- Support the development and execution of Education Japan's growth strategy.
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis.
- Assist in evaluating new initiatives, products, and expansion opportunities.
- Develop business cases and recommendations for strategic decisions.

Founder’s Office & Special Projects
- Collaborate directly with the Founder on high-priority business initiatives.
- Translate ideas into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Drive execution of cross-functional projects.
- Track progress and ensure timely completion of key initiatives.
- Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and management updates.

Operations & Process Improvement
- Design and implement systems, workflows, and operational processes.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation.
- Improve organizational efficiency and execution quality.
- Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support automation and process digitization initiatives.

Admissions & Business Performance
- Analyze admissions funnel performance and conversion metrics.
- Support counselor productivity and performance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in target planning, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Work with teams to improve lead management and student engagement processes.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Cultivate relationships with universities, schools, institutions, and corporate partners.
- Assist in sponsorship, collaboration, and partnership initiatives.
- Identify strategic partnership opportunities in India and Japan.

Sakura Quest & Strategic Events
- Support the planning and execution of Sakura Quest and other major initiatives.
- Assist in sponsorship strategy, delegate management, and project execution.

Data, Reporting & Decision Support
- Develop dashboards, trackers, and management reports.
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights.
Qualifications

Education: MBA from a reputed institution preferred; engineering + MBA, or backgrounds in economics, commerce, business, or management are also acceptable.

Experience: 1–4 years of professional experience in consulting, startups, founder’s office, business operations, strategy, analytics, or project management preferred.
