Database Migration Specialist

Job Summary

The Database Migration Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and managing database migration projects, specifically focusing on NoSQL databases and cloud platform transitions. This role involves hands-on experience with Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL on Azure, as well as expertise in migrating databases from AWS to Azure. The specialist will ensure seamless data migration with minimal downtime and optimal performance, contributing to the organization's cloud infrastructure modernization goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute database migration projects involving NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB.
• Manage migration of PostgreSQL databases to Azure cloud environments.
• Plan and perform migration of databases from Amazon Web Services (AWS) to Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and security during migration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Document migration processes and provide technical support post-migration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL on Azure.
• Strong hands-on experience in NoSQL database migrations.
• Demonstrated expertise in migrating databases from AWS to Azure.
• Solid understanding of cloud database architectures and best practices.
• Proficient in database performance tuning and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with additional cloud platforms and database technologies.
• Knowledge of automation tools for database migration.
• Familiarity with data security and compliance standards in cloud environments.

Experience

• Relevant experience in database migration projects, particularly involving NoSQL databases and cloud platform transitions.
• Prior work experience in a similar role within IT or cloud services is preferred.

Salary

• Salary Range: ₹10,00,000 to ₹18,00,000 per annum (maximum up to ₹20,00,000)
• Salary Currency: Indian Rupees (INR)
